  • SPENGA Frisco – GYM OR CYBER BULLY RING

    YOU DECIDE

Since SPENGA Inc. and SPENGA Frisco have continued to suppress every review I’ve posted on Google, Yelp, Nextdoor, Reddit, and Facebook—and have also blocked my phone number nationwide—along with the Frisco franchise owner, their CEO, and co-founders blocking me on all social media platforms, including LinkedIn, I am sharing here my accurate and factual account of what occurred on December 27, 2024, and the events that have continued to unfold since then.

I implore you to search for “SPENGA Frisco” and sort by lowest reviews and you will see how they speak to any one who gives them a 1-star review as well as how they released my PII (Personally Identifiable Information) out to strangers via replies to any and all negative reviews since the incident.

    My original review from Google:

    1 Star

On Friday, December 27, I was assaulted by another member at this location when she ran in front of me to open the door and intentionally swung it into me as I was entering. This was not an accident—the member deliberately hit me with the door.

What followed was even worse. The acting manager, Shakir, handled the situation with shocking unprofessionalism. She accused my husband and me of lying, rolled her eyes while I spoke, dismissed my concerns, and even told me to “act like an adult” and go to my class—this after I had just been assaulted. Her behavior was completely unacceptable. I sat through my class in fear, unsure if the woman who assaulted me would return or if I’d be removed from the club.

When I escalated the issue to the General Manager, Leyton, I encountered the same lack of empathy and professionalism. Despite the club offering me a 3 PM in-person meeting, Leyton refused, saying he was only available at 10 AM. This lack of flexibility and disregard for my time and schedule reflects poorly on the leadership at this location.

The only bright spot in this situation was Kaci, who witnessed Shakir’s mishandling of the incident and behaved professionally and empathetically. Unfortunately, her actions were overshadowed by the failure of the rest of the management team.

I loved this club, made friends, and genuinely enjoyed my time here—until this incident. If you value professionalism, safety, and respect, I urge you to think twice before joining this location.

Both my husband and I chose to share our experiences through separate reviews, as we each processed the incident from different perspectives. Unfortunately, both of our reviews were removed. In an effort to be heard, my husband reposted his original review to SPENGA Frisco’s Facebook page using the “Do Not Recommend” option.

What happened next was deeply unsettling. The woman who intentionally hit me with the door found my husband’s profile on Facebook and went out of her way to further provoke and escalate the situation. We were shocked to later discover that this individual is employed as a counselor at a Denton ISD elementary school—something that’s difficult to reconcile given her behavior.

This experience has left us shaken, not only by the original incident, but by the lack of accountability and the continued attempts to silence and intimidate us for simply speaking the truth.

What was SPENGA Frisco’s response? They disabled their reviews on Facebook.

So we took it to Reddit.

Due to SPENGA Frisco’s decision to disclose my personally identifiable information, another individual—completely unknown to us—was able to track us down and make what can only be described as a threatening and deeply disturbing statement toward our family about a “network on 10k Indian’s in the DFW area that are coming for us”.

This has escalated an already traumatic experience into something far more frightening. No one should have their privacy violated or their safety put at risk simply for speaking out about an incident that affected them.

Fortunately my husband is a certified Ethical Hacker and was able to find who the person was as he thought hiding behind a username was a safeguard. Unfortunately for this person, he used the same name on Instagram and on IG was his full name. From there, my husband found his LinkedIn profile and reported him to his company, Bold Technologies.

    What was Bold Technologies response?

They released my husbands full information to this mad man.

We contacted their umbrella group (Bold Group) and they never responded.

Then, on January 29th, 2025, we were unexpectedly served with a cease and desist/demand letter—clearly intended to intimidate us further. What made this even more concerning is that the attorney who issued the letter, along with every attorney listed from their firm, is not licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

The letter contained several outlandish claims, including an accusation that we used their logo (which, notably, is simply the common “hamburger” menu icon—an attempted trademark that was ultimately denied). We never used their logo in any way. Even more baffling was the claim that we were somehow “weaponizing racism” against their client—an accusation that left us completely confused and disturbed.

The letter, written by someone claiming to be a copyright attorney, not only included defamatory remarks about us but also resorted to unprofessional name-calling. It was riddled with spelling errors and formatting mistakes—including a signature placed awkwardly in the margin—further underscoring the lack of professionalism. The entire experience felt more like an intimidation tactic than any legitimate legal action.

(all of the above are facts and some opinions. this site is to get our experience out there and not be silenced.)
